The latest in our our ‘Meet the team’ series is Polly, who has just joined Intellegens to help us more effectively support and grow our team. If you’re interested in exploring a career with Intellegens, Polly might well be the first person that you speak to. Check out how you can make that happen on our careers page.
1. How long have you been working at Intellegens and what is your role?
I joined Intellegens in July of this year, so am very new to the team! My role is HR & Talent Acquisition Manager, and I am here to help and support the business through its next exciting chapter. I am already assisting with a number of vacancies, both in the UK and US, have released the company’s first Staff Engagement Survey (which has received some fantastic feedback), and am supporting the Senior Team through some training requirements and processes.
2. What is your favourite thing about working at Intellegens?
It’s hard to pick just one thing, so I’ll have to combine the people and the culture. I had been in my previous role for 10 years so joining a new company put me out of my comfort zone, but I couldn’t have been made to feel more at ease. Everyone at Intellegens is supportive, caring and the way everyone works collaboratively is inspiring.
3. What is your career/educational background?
Many moons ago I had a long career working within recruitment. From this I identified that I wanted to be in a role where I could help and support both employees and an employer directly, so moved into a HR focussed position. This took me into a 10 year career with a wonderful Insurance Broker which gave me the platform I needed to secure my role at Intellegens. I sucessfully completed my CIPD HR qualification in 2021.
4. What is something that you think makes Intellegens stand out from other companies?
Intellegens is a very exciting place to be! There are many amazing people who do a fantastic job, all who are keen to help the company succeed.
5. What do you enjoy doing when you are not at work?
Since becoming a parent, my main focus outside work is my family. Deciding which parks / zoos / activities to visit next, and how to navigate the next leap / stage / development! As a child, I always thought my parent knew everything. It turns out that, as parent, we don’t, but it is a wonderful learning curve to navigate together
