Meet the Team
We have asked the members of the Intellegens team a few questions so that you can get to know them better. Here, we introduce Steve Warde, Head of Marketing.
1. How long have you been working at Intellegens and what is your position/role?
I joined Intellegens in 2020 and I work on the marketing of our solution – making sure that the people who could benefit from the Alchemite™ technology find out about it and can learn about what it could do for them.
2. What is your favourite part about working at Intellegens?
It’s a really nice environment to work in – a strong team with a positive attitude, interesting technology and applications, and small enough that you know everyone and everything that is going on, and can see the impact of your work.
3. What is your career/education background?
I’m a graduate in Materials Science from Cambridge, and I’ve previously worked with two university spin-out companies as they grew and teamed-up with other businesses to be leaders in their markets. One was focused on molecular modelling software, with applications in materials, chemistry, and life sciences, and the other helped scientists and engineers to understand and manage materials property data. At Intellegens, I’ve found it helpful that we’re serving many of the same companies with similar applications to my previous work, but enjoyable to have to learn about a different computational technology (machine learning) in order to do this.
4. What is something that you think makes Intellegens stand out from other companies?
There’s the uniqueness of the technology itself, of course. Then the way that Intellegens is able to blend a mix of expertise – physics, materials science, data science, software development, and commercial – into project teams that ensure our customers get useful results for many different types of problem.
5. What do you enjoy doing when you are not at work?
Monday night football (I’m known more for my enthusiasm than the quality of my play) and planning trips around Britain (and, once there are fewer travel restrictions, Europe) in our family campervan.
