Continuing our seasonally-themed look back at some of the Alchemite™ highlights from this year, here are four new features that enabled you to get more from your use of machine learning, and to augment your Alchemite™ experience through new generative AI capabilities.
5. Create model speed-ups
A series of enhancements in the specification and use of data made it even easier to create and apply machine learning models using real experimental and process information. These included recognition of discrete numerical data (or ordinals), incorporation of informational columns providing context for your data, calculated columns that ease integration of domain knowledge into model creation, and column groups to help you organise and access data.
6. Alchemite™ Insight
Alchemite™ Suite now integrates advanced multimodal large language models (LLMs) to provide researchers with transformative interactive guidance in the search for optimal formulations, chemicals, and materials. The new Alchemite™ Insight capabilities unlock deeper insights from experimental data.
7. Insight for calculated columns
By combining the ability to encode domain intelligence into ML models with the power of generative AI to suggest ideas that get you to your target faster Alchemite™ can now suggest relevant property relationships, ratios, blends, or KPIs that are then used as ‘calculated columns’ to weight training of the ML model. We’ve found that this can improve ML model performance by up to 40%.
8. Targets up-front
Alchemite™ now offers a machine learning workflow that uniquely allows you to specify your targets in advance and then trains a machine learning model that is optimized for this specific goal. This allows a 5x increase in performance over a model trained for accuracy over all formulations, saving time and money in the design process.
Keep an eye out for social media posts (or, if you’re a registered Alchemite™ user, our customer update email) to see all 12 of our highlighted features. If you are an Alchemite™ user, we hope you enjoy using these enhancements in 2026 – and look out for more. If you’re not yet a user – why not try out Alchemite™ to see how it could help you?
In either case, we send you Season’s Greetings and best wishes for the year ahead.
