Inaugural Focus Group discusses real-world applications
Intellegens hosted the inaugural Alchemite™ Focus Group meeting this month, bringing together a diverse set of chemicals, materials, and manufacturing organisations to discuss how to maximise value from Alchemite™ deep learning technology as they design and optimise products and processes.
The online session was for project leaders currently using the Alchemite™ software or managers from organisations with an active interest in applying the technology to an identified project. The aims were to ensure that these user organisations were fully aware of the latest and upcoming product developments, to share experiences among attendees, and to enable feedback that could inform Intellegens future development, steering this work to best meet customer requirements.
A final goal of the meeting was to build up the Alchemite™ user community, sharing transferable knowledge across different applications. This was achieved, with attendees from sectors including material production, aerospace, chemicals, formulated products, printing technology, batteries, and food & beverage. Thanks are especially due to the case study presenters from NASA, Johnson Matthey, and EVRAZ.
Among the recent developments presented were:
- Performance improvements and the ability to handle more data types (e.g., categoricals and vector data) in the Alchemite™ algorithm
- Advances in virtual compound predictions
- Inclusion of composition constraints when optimising formulations
- A new ‘suggest next experiment’ feature
- The Adaptive Design of Experiments capability
Customer experiences were shared and plans for future developments were discussed in sessions covered by non-disclosure agreements, but key insights from the group included interest in new ways to combine Alchemite™ predictions with those for physical models and in how Alchemite™ might help with interpretation of image data.
Feedback from participants on the session has been very positive and further user sessions of this type are likely to be held. If you’d like to discuss how Alchemite™ could work most effectively for you, or have an interest in future Focus Group sessions, get in touch.
