Intellegens awarded AI company of the year
Intellegens was recognised as ‘AI Company of the Year‘ in this month’s Cambridge Independent Science and Technology Awards. “We know that Cambridge is a hotbed of life science, high tech manufacturing, and scientific software companies, many with an interest in AI, so it is great validation for us to be selected from among our peer group,” commented CEO, Ben Pellegrini. The award recognises the significant progress made by Intellegens in a year where its technology has been applied by a growing number of chemicals, materials, and life science research organisations, and the company has further developed its product, team, and infrastructure – including the opening of its new Cambridge Headquarters.
New white paper: Machine learning for life sciences
Intellegens has published a new white paper exploring how life science researchers apply machine learning as they face an exponential expansion in data volumes, while wrestling with objectives including: minimising time-to-market, maximising efficacy at the same time as ensuring safety, and creating better-targeted therapies. Machine learning can turn this data from a time-sink into a resource that accelerates innovation.
Alchemite™ 2023 Spring Release targets experimental design
The Alchemite™ 2023 Spring Release is out, focusing on a reimagined experimental design experience. The user interface for this key use case has been redesigned in collaboration with materials and chemicals industry customers, focusing on key tasks and supported by algorithmic enhancements that make it fast and easy to account for complex experimental constraints. These and other UI enhancements, including a new dashboard view, make Alchemite™ a better fit to scientists’ workflows. And support for teams and the enterprise has been extended with new collaboration tools and infrastructural improvements.
Trustworthy AI - take the survey
The ‘Trustworthy AI’ Industry Consortium is conducting a survey on the adoption of AI / ML in the materials, chemicals, and formulation industries and the needs for greater education and trust in these technologies. The aim is to better understand limitations on their use and make recommendations that will lead to them being more widely and effectively applied. Every insight gained will be helpful to this industry effort, so we would be grateful you could take a few minutes to take the survey.
Next webinar: Alchemite™ for academic research
Dr Gareth Conduit is chief scientific officer and co-founder at Intellegens and a Royal Society Research Fellow at the University of Cambridge. In our next webinar, Gareth will introduce the Alchemite™ machine learning method and provide examples of its application to academic research in materials science, chemistry, battery research, and life sciences. The Alchemite™ Academic Programme makes access to Alchemite™ affordable and easy for academic researchers.
Recorded webinar: Biopharmaceutical case study
If you missed this month’s webinar on machine learning for life sciences, you can now view the recording. It discussed the potential and some of the challenges of applying this technology in areas including drug discovery, translational medicine, formulation, and manufacturing processes. We heard a case study from Lukas Kuerten of CPI on using machine learning to predict viability of biopharmaceuticals early in development.
Blog: Getting the taste for machine learning
Of all the smart collaboration technologies that we use at Intellegens, the lunch table remains the most important. So, among the many fascinating applications for our software, food is one that we can really get behind as a team. The industry is top-of-mind for us for other reasons, too – we’ve seen plenty of interest in our technology from food formulators lately. So just what are food and beverage development teams using machine learning for? And, why the current interest?
