Taking DOE to the next level
Discovery and development remains highly dependent on costly and time-consuming experimental programmes. Conventional statistics-based Design of Experiments (DOE) methods reduce this burden, reflected in the widespread use of respected software such as JMP and Minitab. But machine learning offers the opportunity to go a step further, particularly for multi-component problems, systems with non-linear effects, or to enable adaptive DOE. In this webinar we discuss the use of the Alchemite™ machine learning software for DOE. Alchemite™ typically results in a 50-80% reduction in the number of experiments required compared to conventional DOE methods.
Project targets oligonucleotide therapies
Intellegens and the Centre for Process Innovation (CPI) have secured a £1.6m grant from Innovate UK, part of UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) to apply machine learning (ML) in the emerging field of oligonucleotide therapies. This class of therapeutics holds great promise, but progress is constrained by limits on industry-wide manufacturing knowledge. The project will apply ML to identify productive routes in oligonucleotide process development and manufacturing, drawing on expert support from six leading pharmaceutical research organisations, including top 10 pharma companies such as Novartis and specialist biotech companies such as Silence Therapeutics.
New feature: Exploring design space
Designing experiments when you may have to consider hundreds of ingredients, process parameters, and targets is a challenging process of balancing constraints whilst trying to explore design space efficiently. Alchemite™ now includes ‘Targets and Design Space’ pages that make it easy to choose exactly which ingredients and parameters to search over, combining them into complex constraints that will help you achieve the best results possible.
Blog – Time travelling with machine learning
The Intellegens Customer Advisory Board (CAB) met in June for a day of strategic discussion on the future of machine learning for chemicals, materials, and life sciences. The Board is a group of key user organisations that provides guidance for Intellegens, ensuring our development plans are well-aligned with long-term customer needs. Sectors represented included: specialty chemicals and materials, food and beverage, fast-moving consumer goods, formulated products, and life sciences. Alchemite™ User Group Meeting
The Alchemite™ User Group Meeting will be held online on 17 October, providing an opportunity for the user community to share experience, learn tips and tricks, hear about the latest developments, and provide input to the Intellegens development team. The session is open to any current Alchemite™ user.
