Our team and technology
Our advanced Alchemite™ machine learning technology originated in the work of Dr Gareth Conduit and collaborators at the Cavendish Laboratory, University of Cambridge. At Intellegens, we have built a unique Artificial Intelligence (AI) toolset that can train machine learning (ML) models from sparse or noisy data, where other ML approaches fail. Our Cambridge-based science and development teams apply, extend, and improve the Alchemite™ software in close collaboration with our customers and partners. In 2023, the Cambridge Independent Science and Technology Awards recognised us as AI Company of the Year.
Applied machine learning
Our focus is on making it easy to apply advanced machine learning in practice. With the Alchemite™ software you can extract maximum value from your data. A key target is accelerating innovation in materials, chemicals, life sciences, and manufacturing, particularly where projects have a significant experimental component. Alchemite™ helps scientists and engineers to optimise products and processes while reducing the amount of experiment by 50-80%, getting to market faster and at lower cost. From the first use of our algorithms to design a novel alloy for aero engines, we’ve gone on to tackle applications in areas including formulation design, chemicals, materials, drug discovery, translational medicine, food technology, batteries, and optimising manufacturing processes.
Partnerships – embedding Intellegens technology
As well as providing value to our customers through the Alchemite™ software, our deep learning technology can be embedded in third party platforms to help with problems related to sparse and noisy data. We have ongoing partnerships in areas from materials design to battery systems. The Cerella™ platform from our partner Optibrium integrates Alchemite™ technology to accelerate small molecule drug discovery. We are working with engineering simulation leader Ansys to integrate Alchemite™ tools within their Granta MI™ additive manufacturing data management solution.
