Advanced ML inside your spreadsheets

New Alchemite Excel add-on

Now researchers don’t even need to leave their familiar Excel spreadsheets to apply the power of the advanced Alchemite™ machine learning method. A new Microsoft-approved Excel add-on puts Alchemite™ just a click away, fully integrated within Excel. Users can instantly generate machine learning models from their research data, apply those models for prediction and design of experiments, and use familiar analytical capabilities within Excel to gain data insights. One more click can launch the Alchemite™ Suite software, enabling users to jump straight from data in Excel to applying all of the features of Alchemite™ apps, which provide more fine-grained control of modelling and a wider range of specialist features and analytics.

Webinar – Sustainable products and processes

Find out how machine learning (ML) is extracting more value from experimental and process data to identify solutions that maximize both the performance and environmental impact of products and processes. Hear a case study from sustainability innovator Plantsea, learning how they are creating products to avoid microplastic pollution. See a demonstration of the Alchemite™ software, showing how ML can be used to reduce carbon footprint and energy consumption, minimize waste, and avoid use of harmful chemicals.

Gen AI adds domain intelligence to ML models

A new feature in Alchemite™ combines the ability to encode domain intelligence into ML models with the power of generative AI to suggest ideas that get you to your target faster. In materials, manufacturing, chemistry, or life science, the LLM-powered insight can suggest relevant property relationships, ratios, blends, or KPIs that are then used as ‘calculated columns’ to weight training of the ML model. We’ve found that this can improve ML model performance by up to 40%. The result is a short-cut through weeks of reviews, iterations, and domain expert discussions.

Technical paper – Oligonucelotides

Technical Paper: Accelerating data-driven oligonucleotide manufacturing

Therapeutic oligonucleotides are scaling from discovery to commercial supply, but variability and impurities introduced during solid-phase oligonucleotide synthesis (SPOS) remain a significant barrier to robust, economic manufacturing. When impurities emerge early, downstream cleavage and deprotection (C&D), purification, and analytics become slower and costlier. This new paper shares results from a two year project to develop and validate a machine learning tool that uncovers the complex relationships linking oligonucleotide production processes and product quality. The resulting ML models enable accurate performance prediction and development of optimized quality control strategies.

Blog – Playing around with ML

One of many interesting points highlighted by the recent Alchemite™ User Group Meeting (see next item) was the importance of being able to ‘play around’ with machine learning – and of having the right tools to enable that process. This was evident both in some of the new analytics features shown and in the stories shared in user case studies. We’ve delved further into this idea in the latest blog.

User Group Meeting shares experiences

Nearly 30 R&D organizations registered for the recent Alchemite™ User Group meeting, spanning sectors including chemicals, consumer products, food, plastics, alloys, construction chemicals, advanced materials, and life sciences. The meeting shared experiences of successful applications of machine learning, updated users on the latest developments in the software, and provided a glimpse into future developments in machine learning and agentic AI – inviting user collaboration in ensuring these advances meet their key requirements.
