Intellegens has collaborated with research informatics leader Revvity Signals to integrate Alchemite™ machine learning (ML) with Revvity’s Electronic Lab Notebook (ELN) system, Signals Notebook. We’ll be discussing the role of ML in the ‘lab of the future’ at the SmartLab Exchange Europe event in Amsterdam (23-24 Feb).
In the video below, Dr Tom Whitehead, Head of Machine Learning at Intellegens, demonstrates a typical Design of Experiments workflow that shows seamless data flow between Alchemite™ and Signals Notebook.
Signals Notebook is the premier SaaS ELN used by 1 million scientists, helping these users to accelerate R&D innovation in drug discovery, chemicals and materials, and food, flavor, and fragrance. There is a clear synergy with the Alchemite™ system, which has been successfully applied by research organizations in all of these sectors.
In the video, Alchemite™ is used to train an ML model using experimental data in Signals Notebook. The model is then used to recommend what experiments will maximize additional insight for minimum effort. The experimental work is specified and recorded via Signals Notebook and the result is a model with improved understanding of the chemical system being studied. By going round this loop iteratively, ML typically enables experimental programs to converge on their targets with 50-80% fewer experiments than traditional Design of Experiments.
