Project selected from over 600 applicants to major UK initiative
Intellegens has been selected from over 600 applications to receive one of the Frontier AI grants from Innovate UK. This major initiative is advancing development of state-of-the-art AI and machine learning in the UK.
Our project, “Adaptive World Models for Experimental Design”, blends next-gen AI and physics simulation to radically accelerate the development of new materials and the products they are used to make.
The properties of a product often depend on a long, complex sequence of manufacturing steps. Today’s machine learning tools optimize each stage in isolation, blind to how one shapes the next. The use of “world models” changes that. This class of AI can learn a system’s dynamics and plan across the whole route. Trained using physics simulations, the models can recommend the best conditions from start to finish. In the new project, we’ll be refining and validating this approach in partnership with a world-leading manufacturing organization, with support from Innovate UK.
