Machine learning for sustainable formulations
Dr Tom Whitehead presented at last week’s SCI Formulation Forum in London, discussing the application of machine learning to improve sustainability in the chemicals industry – the third largest industrial emitter of CO2. If you weren’t at the event, don’t worry! You can join us online on February 21st to see Tom’s presentation and an additional software demonstration, and participate in live Q&A.
Download our most popular white paper
We will all have been reviewing our 2022 performance metrics over the last few weeks. At Intellegens, we’ve been taking a look at what interested you most on our website and social media last year. Perhaps unsurprisingly, the answer was: real examples of applied machine learning. Our most downloaded white paper was ‘Seven examples of how materials and chemicals companies innovate with AI’. In case you missed it – download it now!
Design even better experiments with Alchemite™
New developments are always being added to the Alchemite™ Analytics software. One recent enhancement to the Output Tolerance feature enables interactive visualisation (pictured) of predicted variations in a system’s outputs due to uncertainty in its inputs. Users can plan safety margins and limits to ensure the greatest chance of success for every experiment. Another new feature is the ability to target any measurable output, even if it is non-numerical. This enables the model to include knowledge, such as a visual “Pass/Fail” or a list of defect types, that is often impossible to include with other machine learning methods.
See Alchemite™ machine learning in action - right now!
A very popular recent addition to our website has been this demonstration video, in which Dr Joel Strickland from our Science Team walks through a complete design of experiment workflow for formulations design. The video is around 12 minutes long – grab a coffee and you could watch it right now…
Blog: Machine learning for paints and coatings
On this month’s blog, we look at the commercially-important and scientifically-challenging area of paints, coatings, inks, dyes, and related chemicals. We discuss why and how machine learning is being used to optimise formulations and save experimental time in these areas.
Connect with us across the USA this March
These big challenges are discussed in a little more detail in a feature article in this month’s Process Industry Informer. Find out how machine learning is helping to tackle the energy, sustainability, and innovation challenges facing the chemical process industries.
Intellegens to open new HQ
Machine learning for materials, chemicals, and manufacturing is really going places. For Intellegens, it’s going to Chesterton Mill in Cambridge, where we’ll be opening our new headquarters office in the next month. It was a landmark day as CEO Ben Pellegrini collected the keys. We’ll keep you posted on progress. More importantly, our new home and expanded team will equip us better to drive forward product development and to support our customers.
