Updated white paper - 7 examples of innovation with AI
The most consistently popular white paper on our website has been ‘7 examples of how materials and chemicals companies innovate with AI’. Now we’ve updated this paper with the latest case studies and publication references. Topics covered include alloys, chemistry, life sciences, plastics, formulations, batteries, and additive manufacturing.
Webinar - Optimising experimental programs
The development of new and improved chemicals and formulated products is costly and time-consuming due to the experimental programs required to explore all available chemistries, ingredients, and process options. In this webinar, we’ll walk through a complete workflow for building a machine learning model, then improving it through focused acquisition of new data. Such an approach typically results in 50-80% fewer experiments than conventional methods, and has been proven in applications including specialty chemicals, food and beverage, paints, dyes, fragrances, cosmetics, and plastics.
Embrace uncertainty - get concrete results
At this month’s Intellegens webinar, Dr Gareth Conduit introduced some interesting new research on the design of new concretes at the University of Cambridge. In the work , a machine learning model is able to learn from what appears to be ‘noise’ in the data in order to improve its predictions of strength. The proposed concretes were made and found to behave as predicted, exceeding performance of commercially-available concretes. We’ve also discussed this work, and uncertainty more generally, in this month’s blog.
BAT, Domino present case studies at Alchemite™ Focus Group
Attendees at this month’s third Alchemite™ Focus Group reflected the growing and diverse usage of the machine learning technology, with representatives of sectors including chemicals, plastics, alloys, aerospace, paints, consumer products, additive manufacturing, energy, food and beverage, and printing technology. Particular thanks go to BAT and Domino Printing Sciences for sharing their experience of applying Alchemite™ in product research and development.
Build a machine learning model in 1 minute
In our latest bite-sized demonstration video, you can see how quick and easy it is to build an Alchemite™ machine learning model from sparse data, and to apply that model to fill in gaps in the data.
Connect with us at the Advanced Materials Show
This week, we are presenting and exhibiting at the Advanced Materials Show, running alongside the Battery Cells & Systems Expo in Birmingham, UK. Find us on stand 18-714 and look out for our Dr Joel Strickland, who will be presenting case studies in machine learning for materials research as part of the speaker program.
We'll be at ACHEMA 2022!
We’re looking forward to joining ACHEMA, the major international event for the chemical process industries, for the first time this year. We’ll be in the Digital Hub (Hall 11.0, stand F58). If you’re going, why not contact us in advance to fix up a meeting?
Join our team
We’re continuing to grow the Intellegens team both at our Cambridge headquarters and in the US. If you have relevent experience in data science, machine learning, software development, materials or chemical R&D, or related commercial activities – get in touch!
