Upcoming webinar - Gareth Conduit on uncertainty and noise
There are in-built uncertainties in the data that we collect and the predictions that we make when developing chemicals, materials, or formulations. But that should not stop us from making good decisions using this information. Indeed, in some circumstances, we can even extract useful knowledge from what appears to be noise in the data. In this webinar, Intellegens co-founder and CTO Dr Gareth Conduit will discuss this topic, delving into how we can gain useful insights with the right tools and approaches to uncertainty in machine learning studies.
New Alchemite™ features improve user insights
The busy engineering team at Intellegens continues to advance the Alchemite™ deep learning software. Among a number of usability and visualisation features added in recent releases are enhancements to dimensionality reduction, based on user feedback. There is now a choice of reduction methods available when generating these plots. They enable complex, high-dimensional data to be visualised in two dimensions and identify useful clusters of similar materials, chemicals, or formulations.
Recorded webinar - Machine learning for polymers R&D
If you missed this month’s webinar on machine learning for polymers R&D, don’t worry! The recording is now available. Find out how innovative machine learning can enable a data-driven approach in this area, focusing experiment more effectively and providing scientists and chemical engineers with quality insights to guide development of product concepts and to enable more efficient, reliable processes.
Video demo - an Adaptive Design of Experiments workflow
In this new demo video our Product Manager, Joe Smith, shows how easy it is to set up an ‘Improve Model’ run in the Alchemite™ Analytics software. This identifies what experiments to do next in order to increase the quality of your machine learning model and focus-in on your targets. It’s simple to feed the results from those experiments back into the model, and iterate until you achieve the desired results. This ‘Adaptive Design of Experiments’ approach meets objectives using far fewer experiments than conventional DoE.
Connect with us at the Advanced Materials Show
We’re really enjoying getting out to meet the community at in-person events again and we will be presenting and exhibiting at the upcoming Advanced Materials Show, running alongside the Battery Cells & Systems Expo in Birmingham, UK. Find us on stand 18-714 and look out for our Dr Joel Strickland, who will be presenting case studies in machine learning for materials research as part of the speaker program.
Machine learning and The Age of Plastic
On this month’s blog, we take a short diversion to The Buggles 1980 new wave album ‘The Age of Plastic’, with its hit single ‘Video killed the radio star’, before returning to the importance of plastics R&D and discussing the increasing role of machine learning.
Third Alchemite™ Focus Group
We’re looking forward to next month’s third meeting of the Alchemite™ user community. The event is a chance for members of this growing group of development organisations to get together, learn from case studies, hear about new and upcoming features in the Intellegens software, and provide feedback to our development team. We will report back in next month’s newsletter.
Join our team
We’re continuing to grow the Intellegens team both at our Cambridge headquarters and in the US. If you have relevent experience in data science, machine learning, software development, materials or chemical R&D, or related commercial activities – get in touch!
