1. What is your role at Intellegens?
I’m in the Science Team. We work closely with customers to really understand the technical details of their problems and then guide them to apply machine learning to achieve their goals – for example, optimising their products.
2. What is your career/educational background?
My background is in materials science and engineering. I took my PhD at the University of Leicester where I focused on computational modelling of superalloys. The combination of computing and physical sciences helps me to work with our materials and manufacturing customers.
3. What is good about working at Intellegens?
Machine learning was a new and challenging technology for me when I came here. But that offered me a lot of potential to grow and learn and I found that everyone is eager to share the knowledge and experience of their own unique projects. That really helped me to get up-to-speed quickly and to enjoy my time at Intellegens. I love my role because of the diversity of projects and challenges, working with many different types of interesting customer organisations. Every day is different and exciting.
4. What is something that you think makes Intellegens stand out from other companies?
I think the way that we are able to bring together machine learning expertise with an understanding of the scientific challenges faced by our customers.
5. What do you enjoy doing when you are not at work?
I usually spend my free time working out and taking care of my cute new-born baby girl (squats can really work magic)!
