Caroline’s work is already having a big impact in helping to get the Intellegens message out to more companies and individuals who could benefit from applying the Alchemite™ machine learning technology to accelerate their innovation.
1. What is your role at Intellegens?
I’ve been with Intellegens since January this year. I was originally brought in to manage the Marketing Communications side of the marketing function. Since my arrival, the growth within Intellegens has seen my role grow to encompass Marketing Operations and managing a team of Sales Development Representatives (SDRs), who often make the initial contact with the R&D teams that need our technology.
2. What is your career/educational background?
Following my graduation I went to work for an analytical software company in Cambridge, focusing on managing events and lead generation. It was here I learned about Enterprise marketing and SaaS software models. From there I moved to Biovia/Dassualt Systemes, where I was able develop my knowledge of marketing to a scientific audience. I focused mainly on campaign management, working closely with Product Marketing and Product Engineering teams. In 2015, I moved on to Dotmatics as Head of Marketing, managing a global team of marketeers and SDRs. I grew both the marketing and SDR teams substantially, and gained first-hand experience of scaling a company through both investment and acquisition, with all of the challenges and the rewards that these can offer. Fast forward to 2023, where I now find myself drawing upon this knowledge to support and drive Intellegens through their scale-up journey.
3. What is good about working at Intellegens?
My personal attraction to my current role was that it was one in which I could make a real difference. Our CEO, Ben, and the rest of the leadership team were super-engaged during the recruitment process, which gave me a real insight into the culture and strategy for the business now and over the next few years. Since joining, everything has fallen into place and I am empowered to do my job and succeed within the company with support of my peers and leaders.
4. What is something that you think makes Intellegens stand out from other companies?
The culture at Intellegens makes it a great place to work – there is a real caring approach to individuals and collectively. Departments are collaborative and engaged and there is a real feeling of ‘together we will achieve great things’.
5. What do you enjoy doing when you are not at work?
I always shy away from these questions. I’d love to say I’m a keen marathon runner, mountain climber, or something more inspiring, but to be honest, I’m a homely person – I love entertaining friends and family, chilling with the kids, and I have been known to enjoy the odd glass or two 😉
